Job Description

At BETA Technologies, we apply our intellectual curiosity, passion for aviation, and commitment to sustainability toward a shared mission of revolutionizing electric aviation. Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture.

In this role, you’ll act as a key focal point between engineering and manufacturing teams — supporting product validation, defining test requirements, and leading the development of a scalable production test strategy. You’ll be responsible for specifying, sourcing, commissioning, and maintaining both manual and automated test equipment (ATE). As we ramp to full-rate production, you'll drive the growth of test capability and capacity — ensuring our test systems can meet increasing throughput demands while maintaining reliability, compliance, and quality. The selected candidate will have to develop formal test procedures, instrumentation plans, test stand/fixture designs, data acquisition architectures, and any other necessary tools to allow for thorough and repeatable testing. It will be under the selected candidate responsibility to ensure and confirm data collected during the tests are accurate and complete.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Establish and execute HASS, ESS, and Product Acceptance Testing procedures in support of production and certification requirements
  • Serve as a key interface between engineering and manufacturing, translating product requirements into actionable test plans and scalable test infrastructure
  • Lead efforts to automate manual testing processes, enhancing throughput, consistency, and traceability
  • Define test system requirements, source and commission test equipment and ATE, and oversee integration into the production environment
  • Complete data acquisition techniques, processing, and signal conditioning on sensors
  • Ability to perform hands-on tests including setting up and executing tests with test hardware and data acquisition
  • Maintain test system calibration and readiness in support of both FAA compliance and internal QA programs
  • Document all test activities, results, and procedures in accordance with industry standards and Beta’s internal quality system

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
  • with 3+ years of experience
  • Experience in production or environmental testing of electronic systems
  • Strong experience with HASS/HALT/ESS methodologies, including temperature, vibration, humidity, and power cycling tests
  • Experience defining, sourcing, and commissioning test systems and Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining test systems and Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition, sensors, test instrumentation, and test control systems
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) or platforms (e.g., LabVIEW) for test automation
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Experience working with high-voltage systems and applying safe lab practices

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in the Aerospace or EV industry
  • Experience launching or expanding a production test cell or lab environment
  • CAD experience for test fixture design and layout
  • Knowledge of AS9100, FAA compliance frameworks, or other aerospace production quality systems
  • Experience working with MES or other traceability and manufacturing systems
  • Ability to author SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and train test operators on procedures and equipment usage

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders and/or stairs
  • Ability to position self for inspection including confined, elevated and loud noise spaces
  • Ability to position self to move and/or transfer materials, equipment and/or supplies
  • Ability to use tools, equipment, and technology necessary to do the job. This includes dexterity in instrument manipulation
  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and may involve long portions of time on feet

$90,000 - $120,000 a year
