ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing tasks beyond routine resident care. * Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitor residents' responses, and adhere to community infection control policies. * Assist residents with medications as outlined in medication procedures and supervise those who self-administer. * Maintain residents’ records daily, documenting medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions. * Write weekly/monthly summaries addressing issues identified in service plans. * Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room. * Receive and manage reports on all residents. * Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy before accepting keys. * Provide direct resident care as described in the Resident Assistant Job Description. * Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance. * Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers. * Attend all required in-service training sessions. * Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team. * Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene in line with company policies. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * High School diploma or GED required. * 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors. * Delegation by a Registered Nurse for medication administration. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail. * Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
