Job Description

LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Location Oxford, MS :

Job Summary

The LPN is responsible for performing direct patient care duties. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and patient satisfaction. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality care and in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Triage and interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Documents patient care observations according to professional standards and procedures
  • Perform or assist providers with patient procedures
  • Administer and document immunizations and other injections as directed by the provider
  • Obtain and handle laboratory specimens including, but not limited to: blood, urine, stool, wound, nasopharynx, eye and ear per nursing and laboratory protocols
  • Perform and document quality control and quality assurance standards for all laboratory testing per CLIA standards
  • Perform and appropriately document telephone triage including patient advice, prescription refills and taking messages, etc.
  • Communicate status of pending patient problems via patient messaging as needed
  • Arrange referrals and laboratory services for patients as ordered by provider
  • Stock and clean exam rooms after each patient and as needed throughout the day
  • Order pharmacy and medical supplies as needed

Job Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities)

  • Proven working experience as an LPN
  • Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in patient management software
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
  • General understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Education

  • Associate degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • Clinical nurse experience (preferred)

License/Certification

  • Licensed Practical Nurse License or
  • Active CPR Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
