Job Summary:

The Digital Video Producer I is tasked with youth sports, social discovery, editing of show content on ESPN-branded channels. This role will additionally oversee members of the YouTube team. A qualified candidate will need to possess a commanding knowledge of sports culture, as well as social/digital media production and distribution techniques. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and constantly innovating their approach to content technically, tactically, and creatively. This candidate will also need to be an effective communicator and leader both within and outside the YouTube group.

Responsibilities:

  • Write titles and descriptions of videos, design thumbnail images, and add other elements in the publishing process, in order to maximize effectiveness of content on YouTube.
  • Understand YouTube Analytics and ability to communicate that information inside and outside the YouTube group.
  • Ability to communicate and work with Talent.
  • Create graphics (static and motion) that stand out in a social/digital environment.
  • Research, write and disseminate ideas for future content elements on ESPN platforms.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete delivery of multimedia elements, and publish to various platforms.
  • Manage direct reports who will be producing and editing for ESPN’s YouTube ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of sports, culture & news, including current athletes, events, and storylines.
  • Expertise in video editing in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, as well as advanced abilities in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
  • Strong storytelling skills, creativity and a passion for pitching and executing story ideas from ideation to publication.
  • Influential in understanding the ever-changing YouTube landscape and other emerging platforms.
  • Excellent headline writing skills; an understanding of optimal tactics for social distribution.
  • Expertise in Search Engine Optimization methods and data analytics.
  • Must possess demonstrated communication and organization skills, and ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of situations.
  • Familiarity with ESPN programming and platforms.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage one’s own projects, as well as those of others on the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years in multimedia content production or related experience.
  • Experience working with a variety of digital content management systems.
  • Strong presentation skills.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism or a closely related field

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $85,800 to $115,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
