COMMERCIAL ROOFING SUPERINTENDENT

Department:  Roofing
Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer
Classification: Exempt

Job Summary: Join our team as a Commercial Roofing Superintendent, overseeing multiple roofing projects to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality completion. This role demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and extensive knowledge of roofing practices and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of commercial roofing projects.
  • Manage and direct roofing crews, ensuring efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and quality, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to communicate project status and resolve issues.
  • Ensure all roofing activities comply with industry standards, local building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project activities.
  • Train and mentor roofing crews.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; roofing apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial roofing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and construction practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Valid driver’s license and OSHA safety certification required; relevant industry certifications preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily outdoor work on commercial construction sites, often at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Requires physical labor, including lifting heavy materials (up to 75 pounds), climbing ladders, and working at heights.
Travel:
  • May require travel to various job sites within the region.
