Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Naples, Florida is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Work with the Golf Course Superintendent alongside the others while each managing a golf course under the supervision of the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds. He/She will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of a maintenance program for a golf course. The position should be adept at simultaneously managing multiple projects and tasks, with strong attention to detail, while being a team player, The position requires a high level of competency and the ability to keep workflow consistent and on time. The position, in partnership with the leadership team, requires innovative spirit and drive, highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the golf course and property.
• Work together with the course superintendent in supervising, scheduling, training, and overseeing maintenance team members.
• Create an efficient team and implement maintenance practices to continually improve playing conditions and workforce.
• Participate in golf course renovations including green, tee, and bunker rebuilds, installation of a new irrigation system, cart path replacement, and landscape improvements.
• Use provided tools to train and enforce safety practices.
• Keep detailed records of daily tasks and chemical/fertilizer applications.
• Carry out the goals set forth by the club and director of golf courses and grounds.
• Manage employees including evaluating, hiring, and termination.
• Perform other duties as directed by superintendents and the director of golf courses and grounds.
Requirements:
Pesticide applicators license or willingness to obtain one within 90 days.
Must have general knowledge of the game of golf.
Ability to speak Spanish.
One year of crew management experience.
Two years of golf course experience.
Compensation:
$56,000 – $80,000 per year.
